Make A Crankie! Workshop
Time & Location
About The Event
The Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry is proud to present the Make A Crankie! Workshop.
Katherine Fahey, renowned crankie puppeteer, will give a background on, and explain the varieties of, the unique storytelling devices that are crankies and moving panoramas! She will then demonstrate the assembly of a full-sized crankie. We will discuss storyboarding and transition techniques specific to crankies. Then, participants will work on their own small, shoebox-sized crankies with possible performance/discussion time at the end.
Please bring a cereal box, shoebox or other small pasteboard box. We also ask you to bring markers/pens/pencils of your choice, and cutting tools like Xacto knives and/or box cutters with extra blades, and a cutting mat if you have one. All other materials are covered in the cost of the workshop.
