About The Event
Dates & Times: February 16th & February 17th 6:30pm-9:30pm (both evenings)
This workshop is an introduction to basic paper puppet building and filmmaking techniques. During the two-day workshop, participants will create their paper puppets and collaboratively build a paper theater set to record a short clip based on a popular folktale. (Participants should bring a smartphone or tablet for video recording).
Abraham Matias Bio:
Abraham Matias is a puppet artist and director based in Los Angeles. After working as a graphic designer and illustrator in the entertainment industry, he took his love for storytelling, art, and filmmaking through puppetry and toy theater. Since then, he has done puppetry work for the Los Angeles Times, The Center for Cultural Power, and Nickelodeon.
