About The Event

Have you had the experience of wanting for more flexibility and stamina while performing puppets? Gaining general awareness about anatomy and learning about stretches that could help stretch and strengthen body parts that puppeteers use frequently!

Our instructor, Jen Cheng, is an experienced rehab fitness specialist, who has recently ventured into the world of performing in our puppet slam. She has an understanding of the (sometimes) awkward positions we put our bodies in to make the puppets look good, and has a few things to share!

So join us for a Zoom session, where we learn about different exercises together. Bring your questions!

(If you cannot be there, feel free to sign up normally, and indicate that you'll need a recording afterwards.)

Instructor bio:

Jen Cheng is a rehab fitness specialist with over 16 years of experience working in physical therapy clinics, pilates and GYROTONIC studios in Los Angeles and New York City. As a child pianist, she learned the importance of wellness for hands. In her early twenties, she experienced repetitive stress injury from computer use of making too many excel charts which started her study of rehab exercises. She has also studied Tai Chi, yoga, martial arts, and other wellness modalities in addition to being a certified GYROTONIC instructor. Jen is passionate about helping fellow creatives have longevity with their work and as a new member of LA Guild of Puppetry, she hopes to be a resource to fellow members.
